The Faces Collection

This painting was inspired by the many honorable faces shown on the 2007 Ken Burns documentary on WW II called "The War".

When you look at someone, you first examine their face.  You try to really see them - who they are.  Yet, we often hide our own emotions, masking our expressions and avoiding eye contact.  We fear letting others see inside our souls.  Yet life holds little meaning without making these frightening yet rewarding human connections.  In the Faces Collection, I paint face after face, trying to reveal the soul lying behind each one.
