There was a time when Harry Motro was a high-powered, high-tech
executive working in Silicon Valley's sweet spot.
The fruits of his furious labor as chief executive at Infoseek
could be found in the boardroom, on the Nasdaq and on CNBC.
But that was a lifetime ago. If you're looking for evidence of
Motro's work today, you need to set your sights a little lower. Like
the basement of Santa Clara's City Hall where a two-foot bronze
sculpture sits near the door to the water and sewer department. It's
a Motro: two lovers incorporated into a wine bottle and a wine
glass.

Los Gatos, CA – January 22, 2007. On
March 1, 2007, Bronze sculptor Harry Motro releases his new book, “Harry
Motro: Sculpting the Good Life” chronicling
his unusual journey of self-discovery and his transformation into an artist. Motro’s broad spectrum of creativity is on display, ranging from his
award winning faith-centered works to his highly
sought after Wine Lovers bronze sculpture series. The magic behind his approach is in Motro’s ability to
have each sculpture tell a story, a story of the good life. This book responds
to the art world’s desire to know more about artist himself, his journey from
business executive to sculptor, the origins of his unique artistic approach, and
his love of wine. Many art collectors have
heard of painter Thomas Arvid and how he set the standard for portraying wine on
canvas. In a similar way, Motro’s focus is on wine except the medium is bronze
sculpture and, as opposed to a sole focus on the wine bottle, he addresses the
human interaction with the wine. Hand-signed books will be available
exclusively at galleries throughout America’s premier wine region, from Napa
Valley to Carmel. Standard copies will be available at www.harrymotro.com.
